Iran threatens to fire "roaring missiles" in response to any US threat.

Iran warned it would respond to the sanctions approved yesterday by the United States, and was not slow in fulfilling its word. The Aerospace Force of the elite body of the Iranian Revolution Guardians has begun Saturday a series of military maneuvers that include testing local radar and missile systems. These military exercises come amid an escalation of tension with the United States, which yesterday imposed sanctions on 13 individuals and 12 entities related to Tehran's ballistic missile program, which announced reciprocal measures. "We work day and night to protect Iran's security. And as we see the slightest stumble of our enemies, our roaring missiles will fall on their heads, "said the director of the aerospace unit of the Guards, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh in statements to the agency Tasnim. The test will involve missile systems, radars, command centers and computer warfare units, according to the official Iranian news agencies. According to a statement published by the Guardians of the Revolution on its Sepahnews page, the extensive maneuvers are carried out in an area of 35,000 square kilometers in the province of Semnan, in the northeast of the country. The main stage of the exercises started on Saturday after five days of preparatory work, as part of the Army's efforts to strengthen its defensive capability, the statement added. Tension Climbing Acting director of the Treasury Foreign Assets Control Office, John Smith, said yesterday that "Iran's continued support for terrorism and the development of its ballistic missile program poses a threat." For its part, the Iranian Foreign Ministry responded that its missile system "is only for defensive purposes and is to carry conventional weapons".

The Iranian authorities also revealed that they will impose "legal restrictions on a number of individuals and entities involved in financing and supporting extremist groups in the region", whose names will be announced later. Hours earlier, US President Donald Trump warned Iran that it "is playing with fire", to which the head of the Persian diplomacy, Mohamad Yavad Zarif, replied that his country is not going to start a war but will exercise the legitimate Defense if necessary. The relationship between the two countries has been strained to an extreme since Trump ordered to suspend for three months the issue of visas to nationals of Iran and six other Muslim-majority countries. The Islamic Republic decided to apply a reciprocal measure against US citizens. The situation has also aggravated the missile test conducted by Iran last Sunday, which Washington has already threatened to respond to.
